Soyabean is one of the mostimportant legume grown in East Africa. It is mainly used for extraction of cooking oil and in animal feeds. Soya is also used in various food preparations/recipes especially for weaning babies. The Capability of soyabean to improves oil fertility has made it a common crop in the EastAfrican countries. Soybean is an annual leguminous, normally bushy and erect plant that takes 90 - 105 days to mature. It produces a number of small pods containing one to four round usually yellow to black seeds. Soybean (Glycinemax) is the most nutritious crop in the world containing approximately 40% protein and 2 0% oil, both of which are vital in human and animal diet
