Coffee

Coffee is the number one cash crop of Uganda in terms of foreign exchange earnings and employment creation. Uganda is the number one exporter of coffee in Africa and Africa’s second coffee producer after Ethiopia, Uganda currently ranks eighth in the world in coffee production. Coffee as a commodity has continued to play a leading role in Uganda’s economy (contributing between 20 – 30% of the foreign exchange earnings).
